I am interested in talking to others who use video analysis or are interesting in developing skills using video analysis in their work. After the conference at Champaign Illinois, I had the opportunity to work with Dr David Woods who has been working on software for a while which is changing the way analysis is done using video.
I think that opportunities lie in using this within Social Work qualitative research. I would be really keen to speak to others who are working with video to develop a better understanding of approaches that are unique to Social work and also to consider developing work that uses video analysis, with others within the profession.

You might want to contact Lene Levy Storms at UCLA who is doing video analysis of nursing home interactions.
I know a couple of people who wanted to do analysis of videotapes years ago. They were so discouraged by the mountains of material that they never did the analysis.
I think it is important to begin an analysis with a conceptual framework, pre-established codes, and sensitizing concepts.
You could do open coding with the codes to get a sense of what you have. As you do open coding, you will naturally do axial coding which is to see connections between the codes you have identified.
As you do open and axial coding, you could also look for data that don't fit your codes and therefore you have good reason to add to your codes. Eventually, you will also attempt to "refute" the codes in order to find other codes that fit better.
Once you have established what you think are promising core concepts and connections among the core concepts, then you can do selective coding where you look for the many dimensions that are likely to "flesh" out the concepts and the connections between the concepts.
Sometimes you will find that what you thought were core concepts didn't work out--and you find other promising concepts to dimensionalize.
When two or more concepts connect, you have an "hypothesis."
I suggest that you only pick a couple of concepts or hypotheses to expand upon by doing selective coding.
You can have several papers from one data set by choosing just a few concepts/hypotheses to concentrate on.

Even in the most sexually liberated and self-satisfied of nations, many people still yearn to burn more, to feel ready for bedding no matter what the clock says and to desire their partner of 23 years as much as they did when their love was brand new.
The market is saturated with books on how to revive a flagging libido or spice up monotonous sex, and sex therapists say “lack of desire” is one of the most common complaints they hear from patients, particularly women.
